Hello, everyone. I think it’s about time for another update. It’s been a pretty uneventful week, hasn’t it? Nothing ever happens, right? Things are just going to stay the same and or it’s the apocalypse? Okay, enough sarcasm. I’m happy, you’re happy. The tide is turning and it’s about time!
First things first, the read-along is available now! So go check it out if you haven’t! I will, some time later on down the road, do a special edition of it with alternate audio, music and much more! But, for the sake of speed, it is out and I’m happy with it for the most part.
In regards to Lo-fi Beats, I will not give a specific date as to when it’s going to happen as I need to set aside time to film it and read it. I learned a lot from "Real Estate.” Now, I have to try and incorporate what I’ve learned and make some changes in order put the audio and video versions out more quickly and at better quality. My day job really likes to kick my ass around the holidays. Plus, I have my family obligations to worry about as well. So, sadly, this endeavor is very hard to squeeze into my very limited time frame. Even keeping up with the prompts is somewhat difficult.
But, I love doing this and I love making new connections with guys like
, , , , , and oh so many more! I would also like to give a very special shout out and thank you to for restacking both “The Poe Incident” and “Chastity and Conquest!” Please check these guys out if you haven’t! I plan to make connections with many more in the future! And to the aforementioned, thank you for the feedback, support, and engaging conversation! Speaking of “The Poe Incident,” I posted a major clue to solving the hidden message in the comments of the story. Good Luck! Now that the country is steering back on track, I feel a sense of calm. I’m hoping now that things are ramping down after the election, I’ll finally get a break from making snide comments on X. I feel like I hit the gas a little too hard on that one. And if you are coming from X, I want to apologize to you if you’ve thought I’ve steered too far off course. This brings me to something one may notice if they go back to some of my previous posts. I have done a bit of editing to one or two of them. In particular, I removed a word from Real Estate that sounded awkward upon rereading it. And from “Hello from the Other Side,” I removed the bit about EVS. I felt that I was being a bit too petty and didn’t like how it sounded either. They have been crossed out but not outright removed. They are part of what I wrote. To remove them outright seems disingenuous. So, crossing them out seems like a good compromise in my opinion.
Something else I want to discuss is very important to my subscribers. As you’ve probably noticed, everything has been free in regards to stories, videos, updates, and so on. Lately I’ve been thinking about turning on paid subscriptions. The reason I mention this is because I remember reading that once you turn on paid subscriptions, Substack immediately turns all of your free subscribers into paid subscribers. While it’s nice to make money of your work, as a broke Californian Zoomer (kill me), that notion sets off alarm bells in my head. So, I want to soft pitch the idea before I actually push the proverbial nuclear button. Would you like some paid content? It could be darker, edgier (I hate that term) content, making-of posts for the stories, A FACE REVEAL?! No, to that last one. But, the other two are definitely part of the plan. Let me know what you think. And, when I do decide to pull the trigger on it, I will be letting all of you know the day it’s going to happen so you have a chance to jump ship if necessary. Bidenflation made things hard for everyone and I don’t want to be taking food from anyone’s families. But if you can support, I’d appreciate it!
For the moment, I think that’s everything. Things are definitely starting to look up! I look forward to more of your comments, your feedback, and awesome stories! Thank you all once again! Hail the Iron Age!
Turning on the paid subscriptions doesn't change the status of any of your subscribers. Or it didn't when I turned that option on for my substack.
Odd. I must have read it wrong. I'll double check it, but this seems to make the choice obvious.
